Okay, first of all let me say this-THE ASTROS NEED PITCHING!!
Last week it was confirmed that Jake Peavy, San Diego's Ace pitcher, would be interested in talks of becoming an Astro. Peavy, 27 years old, bouncing back from an elbow injury last season, sounds to me like an opportunity to make a major boost to Houston's struggling staring rotation.
Peavy, the NL CY Yound award winner in 2007, posted a 19-6 record with 240 K's and an impressive 2054 ERA, sound to me a great fit, considering he already has a friend in Ace Roy Oswalt, and while earning 4 mil. last season, the Astros should be able to make room in the old budget for him.
When looking at the Astros line-up, it is impressive all the way through, Berkman, Pence, Lee, Tejada, Bourne, Matsui, and Loretta give this team all the pop they need, and with added pitching experience should compete strongly for a Division title, and a Pennat.
Owner Drayton McClane, has a winning attitude, and in my opinion will do what he needs to get this deal done.
